For this role you must be fully flexible Monday to Sunday.
You will be allocated shifts on a rotational basis.
You must be able to work a combination of 8am -8pm, 8am -2pm and 2pm -8pm. You will not be able to provide us with your availability and we cannot allocate you preferred shifts. Please consider this carefully before applying . The Home Longfield Care Home is situated in the outskirts of the Village of Eglinton and ten miles from the city of Derry.
Longfield Care Home facilitates 35 General Nursing residents in the Foyle Unit & Faughan Unit, and 11 Residential Dementia residents in the Moore Suite Unit.
Longfield Care Home received two awards at the 2024 Staff Nursing Awards.
The Home Manager was highly commended in the Home Manger of the Year category.
The second award was won by our Team Leader, she won the Care Assistant of the Year award.
The Role The Team Leader is a guiding force behind a compassionate and dedicated care team, ensuring that our residents receive the highest level of care and support with a positive behaviour, person-centred approach.
The Team Leader leads by example, promoting a culture of respect and inclusion where each resident is valued as an individual with unique needs and preferences.
Leading the care team, they provide support, empowering the team to deliver person-centred care that promotes independence, choice and dignity.
Through their leadership, they not only enhance the well-being of residents but create a positive and nurturing environment where both residents and team members can thrive.
38.5 Hours/week About The Role Main Responsibilities Build a positive and supportive rapport with residents, putting their rights, dignity and choice at the centre of all care delivery.
Plan and implement with the senior team, individual programmes of care.
Work with the care team to meet the daily care needs of residents, providing a high standard of care.
Oversee the Care Assistants ensuring care is provided in a safe environment through participation in learning and development programmes. Examples of this are Safety Intervention Training, Understanding and Implementing Positive Behaviour Support, Implementing Active Support, Reflective Practice Sessions and Understanding your role in Safeguarding.
Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as by the designated manager.
