We are seeking to appoint teaching assistants towork with students in our care at Stocklake Park School.

What the school offers its staff
Part of the Vale Federation of Schools, Stocklake ParkSecondary School is a special school which caters for students who havemoderate to severe learning difficulties.
There are currently 105 students at the main site.
Theschool follows a primary model and is designed to meet individual educationalneeds and develop social and personal skills.
The curriculum is organised togive students the opportunity to experience and explore different subjects.
Weprovide high quality education and care and students have access to a range oftherapies, multi-agency professionals and a team of therapists who supportstudents' needs.
We offer an excellent training package for staff together witha fantastic opportunity to become part of an innovative and forward thinkingteam who are providing a therapeutic and unique learning environment for itspupils.
All students have access to swimming at our primary site, a reboundcentre and purpose built outdoor spaces including a MUGA (multi use games area)and playground equipment.

Further details about the role
Working under the instruction and guidance of teaching andsenior class staff this rewarding, and sometimes challenging role, will includesupporting our students to access and engage with teacher led curriculum andlearning activities.
The successful candidate will assist with theimplementation of individual education and behaviour plans carrying out work inthe classroom or outside the main teaching area.
Assisting with personal care,attending to hygiene needs and administering medication are also key tasks.Comprehensive training is provided as appropriate to the role and continuedprofessional development of our staff is encouraged.

We are looking forpeople who have an appreciation of the positive attitudes needed to encourageindependence in our students.
You will be able to communicate with all membersof our school community liaising with other professionals in order to carry outrecommendations required.
A good working knowledge of ICT to be able toeffectively support learning and a commitment to training is expected.
