What the school offers its staff
Booker Park is a member of the Vale Federation of SpecialSchools, together with the secondary and post-16 school Stocklake Park.
With 237 pupils currently on roll, Booker Park caters forprimary aged children with a broad diversity of complex needs includingprofound and multiple, severe and moderate learning difficulties.
Almost halfof the pupils have an additional diagnosis of an autistic spectrum condition.We are fortunate enough to have wonderful facilities including two large halls,a computer suite, hydrotherapy pool, soft play room, an observational mirrorroom, dark room and sensory theatre.
We have purpose built outdoor spacesincluding a Multi-use Games Area (MUGA), climbing castle, pirate ship andsensory path which are available to all pupils.
We are close to bus and trainlinks and on-site parking is available for all staff.
Further details about the role
Working under the instruction and guidance of teaching andsenior class staff this rewarding, and sometimes challenging role, will includesupporting our students to access and engage with teacher led curriculum andlearning activities.
The successful candidate will assist with theimplementation of individual education and behaviour plans carrying out work inthe classroom or outside the main teaching area.
Assisting with personal care,attending to hygiene needs and administering medication are also key tasks.Comprehensive training is provided as appropriate to the role and continuedprofessional development of our staff is encouraged.

We are looking forpeople who have an appreciation of the positive attitudes needed to encourageindependence in our students.
You will be able to communicate with all membersof our school community liaising with other professionals in order to carry outrecommendations required.
A good working knowledge of ICT to be able toeffectively support learning and a commitment to training is expected.
