Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant – Secondary Schools (KS3/KS4)  Any Specialist Subject Welcome Leigh Secondary School Pay is £400 – £500 Per Term-time Week Start Date ASAP We're working with a larger partner trust and Secondary school in the Leigh area who require and are in need of confident and outgoing Teaching Assistants who can cover ansd support class teachers.
The successful person will support both on a 1-1 basis and also small group sessions in a classroom environment and will be expected to bridge the gap until the staff member returns as best as possible on a short term basis.
Skills required to be a Teaching Assistant; A degree or equivalent in any subject holder and aged 21 or above Ideal if you drive as emergency bookings will come in on the same day  Proven ability to effectively manage large groups of children Have some prior experience of working with children and/or vulnerable adults Have an understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures (training will be provided) Be an engaging and confident individual Good communication skills Professional, reliable and punctual Be adaptable Be available 8.15am – 3.30pm Monday through Friday for 3 or more days a week (term time only) Successful candidates will be required to conduct an interview and complete a vetting process which includes 2 years of reference details, Enhanced Child Workforce DBS if you do not have one, you can get one through Connex Education at the cost of £45.  If you're able to support the school based in the Leigh area this academic year as a Teaching Assistant, please apply or get in touch with our team to discuss this role more.
