The Role We are looking for a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to join the team, supporting primary-aged children.
Your role will involve working closely with students to help develop their social skills, manage challenging behaviour in a calm and patient manner, and contribute to their overall well-being.
Collaboration with the wider team will be essential to ensure each child receives tailored support.
Main Responsibilities Support students in developing social skills and emotional regulation.
Manage challenging behaviour with patience and empathy.
Work closely with the class teacher and team to implement individual strategies for success.
Provide one-to-one and small group support during lessons.
Foster a safe and positive learning environment for students.
Essential Criteria Previous experience working with children who have SEMH needs or trauma.
Strong spoken and written communication skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to challenging situations.
A caring and empathetic approach to supporting children.
Desirable Criteria Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant training in trauma-informed practices.
Experience working in a pupil referral unit or similar setting.
