About the role - Performing Arts and Head of Year The Performing Arts department is at the heart of our academy.
Joining the team would give you the opportunity to be part of an experienced and dedicated team who are passionate about both Music and Drama.
As a Performing Arts teacher and Head of Year, you will work closely with the Director of Creative Arts, allowing all scholars to experience excellent teaching in the classroom, and support a varied and inclusive co-curricular programme.
You will also be supported by a Trust Wide Subject Lead as a Performing Arts teacher and Head of Year and a national community of fellow subject experts who meet regularly to co-plan curriculum and to share best practise.
At our Newham Secondary Academy, scholars study an ambitious and academic curriculum.
We balance our drive for academic success with an ambition to develop the skills needed to pursue a career in the Arts.
Our Co-curricular program provides opportunity for students to develop outside of the classroom, and further spread our passion for music and dramatic artforms.
At KS4 our students follow the OCR music and AQA drama specification in line with the trust.
At KS5 our students will follow the performing Arts BTEC allowing them to select modules most supportive of their further education or career ambitions.
