About the Role: As a Community Teacher, youll work with a small caseload of up to five students who have encountered obstacles in their educational journey.
Your role goes beyond academicsyoull be guiding these young learners within their communities, whether at home, local centers, or nearby spaces, delivering both academic support and vital pastoral care.
Your efforts will help students overcome barriers, setting them up for a smooth transition back to formal education.

What Were Looking For: Qualifications : A teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) or willingness to work toward it, plus a degree or equivalent with Level 2 Maths and English.
Specialist Training : A subject-specific teaching qualification is a plus.
Organizational Skills : Strong administrative and organizational abilities, including effective student behavior management and a commitment to pastoral care in alternative education.
Community Collaboration : Demonstrated experience working with parents, community partners, and stakeholders to support students with diverse needs.
Knowledge of Inclusion : Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and inclusion in alternative education for vulnerable populations.
Problem Solving : Ability to identify and address student challenges, ensuring appropriate support is provided.
Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written skills for engaging students, parents, community members, and colleagues.
Experience : Teaching experience across secondary age groups, with a record of inspiring and motivating students.
Familiarity with virtual learning is a plus.
