Job Type: Full time Job Location: Chelmsford School Setting: Primary School Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent   REF: SENDIRECT/191641 Rate: £80-£110 per day Hours: 8:30-15:30 Start Date: Immediately    We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support deaf children at a Primary School in Chelmsford.
This full-time position is offered on a temporary to permanent contract, providing a fantastic opportunity to work with students who require additional support in communication and learning.
  In this role, you will be responsible for providing tailored assistance to deaf children in the classroom, helping them to engage with the curriculum and develop essential social and academic skills.
You will work closely with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive and supportive environment.

  Key Responsibilities: Support deaf students in accessing the curriculum through tailored learning strategies.
Collaborate with teachers to provide a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
Assist with the development of communication skills, including the use of British Sign Language (BSL) if applicable.
Monitor student progress and report on their development to teachers and parents.
Foster a positive, supportive relationship with students, encouraging confidence and independence.
Work closely with the school's SEN team to develop personalised learning plans for students.
Qualifications and Experience: Experience working with children with hearing impairments is desirable but not essential.
A basic understanding of British Sign Language (BSL) or a willingness to learn.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
