Tax Technology & Transformation, Financial Services - Senior Manager EY's UK Financial Services Tax Technology and Transformation (TTT) business is a rapidly growing team of technology, data science, business transformation and tax professionals that help financial services organisations to redefine their tax operations and functions, driving transformation for the digital age.
The opportunity
We are expanding our team of tax technologists within the UK Financial Services TTT business to reflect the growing demand for tax technology related change and transformation projects across our client portfolio.
The role will focus on enabling our clients to transform their business processes across a range of tax domains (including direct, indirect and product tax) through the effective use of tax technologies, data strategies and automation capabilities.
Your key responsibilities Subject matter expertise including solution/vendor evaluations, design, implementation and configuration of technology and data orientated solutionsEvaluates tax function business models, processes and operations to develop a good comprehension of business needs and requirementsAnalyse and evaluate tax business requirements and translates into tax and IT technical requirements and specificationsProduces technical specifications to guide system architectural design and development and conducts quality assurance tasksInteracts with business stakeholders in both the tax practice and the IT function to gather and document business requirementsAnalyses reports and assessments to provide insights on whether a solution/technology meets overall business requirementsEmbedding and sustaining tax data quality standards in financial systems to enhance tax processes and operationsContribute to business case development and support RFP responses.Skills and attributes for success Proven experience gathering and interpreting tax function requirementsProven experience developing technical requirements and specificationsExperience applying Lean Six Sigma and Business Process Modelling and NotationExperienced in the development and/or implementation of tax technology solutionsAbility to manage the successful delivery of technically complex consulting projectsProject and programme management skillsBuild valuable relationships both within EY and with client stakeholdersStrong written and verbal communication skillsDrive to deliver the highest quality outputAbility to manage multiple initiatives with agilityInterest in understanding and developing knowledge of ERP software and Cloud-computing platformsTo qualify for the role, you must have A university degree.
ACA/CTA or equivalent qualifications are preferable but not essentialSubstantial previous experience working in a technology or business transformation roleExperience in the development and/or implementation of tax technology solutionsBe a "builder" or "architect" who can thrive in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environmentExperience of a similar role within a comparable firm to EY is preferredWillingness to travel within the UK or abroadIdeally, you'll also have Experience working in financial servicesExperience of ERP softwareBroad knowledge of tax compliance reporting requirementsWhat we look for We're looking for a team-player, with strong communication skills and an ability to manage and deliver quality, technically accurate output in a timely manner.
