I am working exclusively with Kent Fire and Rescue Service on a permanent Talent Manager role where you will lead and manage the talent function as they embark on an exciting period of change.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) is a forward-thinking, modern fire and rescue service that aims to create a safer future for Kent and Medway.
Located close to the town of Maidstone, you will be able to work for the organisation on a hybrid basis, going into the office which is a listed building 3-days per week. There is free on site parking for all staff.
The Talent Development Manager paying 48,366 – £53,707, will be responsible for managing talent pools and embedding new talent frameworks into the organisation from scratch. You will create talent development strategies that help promote a culture of internal mobility within the organisation. The role involves managing a team of three, developing and empowering them on a daily basis.
The key responsibilities of this important role include:
Creating, developing and implementing modern talent development strategies. Advising and coaching managers around managing talent pools, succession planning and career pathways. Reviewing the current processes and procedures with best practice at the forefront, making changes where necessary. Utilisation of the data to help make decisions that will benefit the team and organisation. Working collaboratively across the HR team (L&D, EDI and policy specialists), spotting opportunities to collaborate with them to improve the current offering. This is a brilliant opportunity for a forward thinking candidate with a learning and development background. It would be beneficial to have some knowledge and understanding of recruitment. You will need to have a track record of coaching leaders on talent reviews, ensuring they are bringing in the right people who can develop and grow within the organisation. The post holder will build excellent relationships with stakeholders, influencing where possible. The role allows you to be creative, driving the person centred approach at all times.
