Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEN School) Location: Wolverhampton Contract Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm) Weekly Salary: £425 to £450 About Us: We are a dedicated and inclusive Special Educational Needs (SEN) school located in Wolverhampton, committed to providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for our students.
Our mission is to empower children and young people with diverse needs to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities: Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies to meet students' unique needs.
Assist with classroom activities, including preparing resources and supporting learning objectives.
Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student engagement and confidence.
Work on a one-to-one basis or with small groups to provide additional learning support.
Monitor and record student progress, sharing observations with teachers and parents as required.
Support students with personal care and mobility where necessary (training will be provided if needed).
Promote social and emotional development through positive reinforcement and relationship-building.
About You: To be successful in this role, you will need: A genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEN.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and resilience to support students through challenges.
A proactive and flexible approach to working within a team environment.
A DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one) Essential Qualifications/Experience: Experience working with children or young people in a school, care, or similar setting.
A good standard of literacy and numeracy.
Understanding of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and other developmental or learning challenges.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience: A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
Experience in using communication systems such as Makaton, PECS, or AAC.
First Aid or safeguarding training.
