Job Description
GMDS-C is seeking a Systems Engineering Analyst to join our team in our mission to provide systems Engineering support to the Alliance Ground Surveillance (AGS) and Airborne Warning & Control System (AWACS) NATO programs. The position will be located at the GDMS-C facility in Ottawa, ON. Responsibilities include:
Defining and updating technical specifications and work element descriptions
Ensuring cohesiveness and traceability against specifications
Detecting and managing technical risks, initiating preventative measures
Preparing qualification plans and control tests
Preparing and reporting on program technical status, risks, and issues
Identifying, resolving, and tracking requirements and system issues
Supporting maintenance on the NATO AGS / AWACS lab hardware and software
Planning and carrying out system upgrades to solve obsolescence issues
Performing configuration management of lab and spare components
Fulfilling the role of technical point of contact for the customer, partner companies, and subcontractors
Engaging and working with specialty engineering disciplines
Management of technical effort against plans (cost, schedule, resources, and risk)
Recommending activities to improve operational availability and creating technical proposals for those recommendations
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or applicable scientific discipline
Related technical experience in support of deployment and testing of complex electronic and computer systems
Administration and configuration level experience with both Linux and Windows based operating systems
Experience configuring and troubleshooting LAN networks
Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting failed hardware or software failures
Strong communication skills
The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and hold NATO SECRET.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
