System Engineer - Simulink Based: Warton Contract: 6 Months £60.00 Paye or £79.17 Umbrella inside IR35 Onsite: 3 – 4 days per week BAE Systems are currently seeking a talented Senior Systems Engineer – Simulink to join the Dreadnought submarine programme, one of the most critical defence projects in the UK.
Experience: Develop and integrate Model-Based Design (MBD) for the system, collaborating with Control & Instrumentation (C&I), Platform Mechanical, and Software teams.
Design and develop human-machine interfaces (HMI), situational awareness systems, and systems for health and data management.
Capture system control requirements and produce both high-level concepts and detailed design models.
Contribute to the verification and validation of system requirements.
Document design decisions and contribute to safety analysis.
Work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment on requirements and objectives.
Support the work and professional development of junior engineers, offering guidance and coaching.
Participate in the full systems engineering lifecycle, from concept through to delivery.
The Job: 2 to 5 years of experience in Display & Controls, Systems Health, or Data Management-related Systems Engineering, preferably in marine, aerospace, or similar technology-focused industries.
Competence with MathWorks Simulink and Simulink Test, applying Model-Based Systems Engineering principles.
Strong communication Experience in Mission Systems (specifically Displays & Controls or Monitoring & Recording) and Functional Architecture .
Knowledge of Flight or Marine Systems .
