The Sustainability Improvement and Evolution Team Sedex tools are used by the world's leading brands as key instruments to improve working conditions in their supply chains.
The Sustainability Improvement and Evolution team develops the methodologies that underpin Sedex's tools, and researches and designs methodologies for new tools to meet Sedex members' needs.
The team works to understand the needs of a diverse range of businesses and draw on customer, stakeholder and its own internal expertise, to build tools and services that customers can use to inform and meet their strategic objectives and help align their businesses with UNGPs and relevant HREDD legislation.
To ensure that Sedex tools are utilised to their full potential, Sedex is looking for a Sustainability Project Manager to support the team and manage projects associated with the evolution and improvement of Sedex tools.
Key responsibilities In this role, you'll be acting as a project manager to support the Team's objectives, developing processes to ensure high quality management of research, design and implementation of Sedex tools.
This role is intended to provide project management support across the Team and will also run their own project workstreams.
This is a permanent position and can be based anywhere.
Responsibilities will include: · Working within the SMETA Evolution Team to ensure the timely delivery of SMETA improvements and evolutions.
· Working within the Social Sustainability Manager to ensure the continued improvement and timely delivery of future evolutions of SAQ, Risk Assessment tools, Service Provider tools, supplier training and future additional tools · Running individual projects, including project management of SSCI benchmarking of SMETA, and future research projects/ pilots.
SSCI benchmarking to include management of Sedex's SAQ, managing relations with external independent assessor, and co-ordinating data gathering and actions across internal teams to complete the SAQ and any corrective actions needed.
· Responsible for overseeing task management, stakeholder management, document version control, and the day-to-day running of projects.
· Data gathering and analysis to input into design of improvements needed, and track and measure the impact of changes made.
· Answering queries from members, internal stakeholders and collating them for improvements and communications.
· Collating relevant feedback and insights from membership, audit firms and wider industry and integrating them into the methodology and product evolution process.
· Cross- departmental working, providing expertise and liaising and managing engagement with other teams, including training, product, and customer and prospect-facing teams, ensuring the smooth running and timely delivery of projects.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience · Resilient and proactive with experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders · Practical knowledge of sustainability, business and human rights, responsible sourcing, or ethical trade and a strong working knowledge of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and related legislation.
· Experience operating in a multi-cultural environment · Comfortable managing and analysing large data sets · Comfortable speaking to customers and internal stakeholders across all levels of seniority · Experience of taking complex ideas and communicating to varied stakeholder groups.
