Waking Nights Support Worker Temporary 6 Month Contract Are you looking for night work?
Would you like to support adults with learning disabilities if they wake during the night?
Then this is the job for you!
We are looking for a Waking Night Support Worker to join our friendly team of Support Workers in Aylesbury!
Even though it is a night time position, we all know a good night's sleep is important for how we feel the next day, so you will be making a real difference in someone's life even when they are asleep.
Shift time 10pm - 7am What will you be doing?
As a Waking Nights Support Worker, your main role will be regularly checking in on Amy and Holly who draw on our support whilst they sleep, making sure that everything is ok and that they are getting a good night's sleep.
Sometimes they wake-up during the night, and so you will then support them in whatever they may need.
This may be reassuring and chatting with them so that they are able to go back to sleep, or providing support with personal care and medication.
Most importantly, your role is to make sure they do not feel vulnerable throughout the night.
You will be joining a team who will support two young ladies with learning disabilities to live in their own home in Aylesbury.
They haven't moved in yet so you will be there to make the next stage of their lives as fulfilling as possible.
Like all people about to embark on a big change, they are bound to be feeling both excited and nervous.
You and the team will help to make the transition as smooth as possible and support them through the challenges in adapting to their new environment.
Amy* and Holly* are pupils at the MacIntyre school in Wingrave, so they know each other well and have great fun together.
They are both huge fans of Peppa Pig and enjoy arts and crafts and playing draughts.. As you get to know them as individuals you will support them to build a routine of activities that allows them to thrive in this next stage of their lives What we can guarantee is that no two days will be the same.
