Support Worker

Details of the offer

Is your career in care as rewarding as it could be?
Are you frustrated with unrealistic schedules that leave no time for the people you support?
Why not join MacIntyre?
You will work with the same people regularly and have the opportunity to build long term life changing relationships.
You'll be a Support Worker based in one of our three houses in Westoning, near Flitwick, each of which is home to seven adults who have a learning disability.
The houses have very different atmospheres, reflecting the personalities of the people who live there.
Which one do you think would suit you best?
Simon* and his housemates love keeping busy, taking day trips to the beach and going on holiday.
Nearer home they enjoy visits to the swimming pool and a pub lunch.
David* has dementia and lives with people who prefer a much calmer environment.
He finds listening to musicals very relaxing.
Maintaining relationships with their friends and family, together with creating the right sensory environment will be an important aspect of your role.
If you are a creative type, the third house may be a better fit.
Arts and crafts are very popular and John* has a real flair with a paintbrush.
A lot of the fun happens on the move, so you must be a driver with a manual licence .
Don't worry you won't be racing between appointments.
We have our own service vehicles and some of the people you will be supporting have their own cars.
Your ability to drive unlocks the opportunities for them to do the things they really enjoy.
Whichever house you join, you will be welcomed by an experienced team who will provide plenty of support and advice if you need it.
It's not just the people who we support that we care about.
Looking after our employees' wellbeing, job satisfaction and career prospects is part of our DNA.
We have full and part-time opportunities available.
You will be working on a rota which will include weekends ( 2 in 3 ) and sleep ins.
Due to the operational needs of this service we can only accept applications from females. "
I started a career in domiciliary care as I wanted to help people.
