GSL Education Bournemouth Branch are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker in Poole.

About the role: As a Support Worker , you will have an important role in encouraging positive behaviour and creating a supportive space for students to learn.
You will help with their education as well as their overall growth, including their communication, social skills, and independence.
Responsibilities of the Support Worker: Implement Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) developed by teachers and SENCO, ensuring consistent management of challenging behaviours.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to help students understand and manage their emotions and behaviours.
Promote positive behaviour and social skills to foster an inclusive learning environment.
Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to tailor and review behaviour intervention strategies.
Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
Support teachers in maintaining a productive classroom through proactive strategies and assistance during lessons.
Requirements of the Support Worker: Proven experience working with students facing behavioural challenges in an educational or related setting is an advantage. Strong knowledge of behaviour management techniques and intervention strategies.
Empathy, patience, and resilience to effectively support students in regulating their behaviour and emotions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to a positive and supportive school environment.
Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
