We are advertising on behalf of our client an award-winning local care and support business for a Full Time Personal Care Assistant to join their team.
This is an extremely rewarding position offering support clients with additional or complex needs.
The Role To support & assist those who use our service in their own homes and in the community through person centred approaches.
To provide flexible and supportive services to maximise customer independence.
To work within the company policies and procedures.
To work in partnership with our customers, the team, the organisation and the community.
Support customers to implement and maintain control of their lives and to develop their inclusion and participation in the community.
Assist and encourage customers to access a range of opportunities and experiences, within their own home and within the community.
To assist & support customers to monitor their health and wellbeing.
Assist & support customers to manage their medication, including administration where appropriate.
Participate in customer holidays and day trips when required.
Support customers to access employment, education and leisure opportunities.
All associated recording, reporting and administration.
4 0 hours per a week, the role will require working a shift pattern to include some weekends and sleep ins.
About you Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage but training can be provided for the right person.
To have an enjoyment of working with adults with learning difficulties and or mental health.
To be able to work flexibly to meet the varied challenges of the role.
Ability to use your own initiative.
Ability to follow support plans & risk assessments & guidelines.
Commitment to improve our customers lives.
To be able to effectively and safely deal with behaviour that may challenge.
Able to meet the physical and mental and emotional challenges of the role (which may be determined by occupational health checks).
Must be willing to undertake shift work (including some night work on occasion when required) Qualifications such as NVQ2/3 are desirable but full training can be provided.
