Job summary Trauma and Orthopaedics are looking to recruit a highly organised support secretary to provide an efficient service to the Consultant(s), resident medical staff and wider team.
You will type back within agreed timescales, mostly from digital dictation, outpatient letters and discharge letters.
Answer telephone queries and provide non-clinical advice regarding patient care and appointment/admissions to patients, Trust staff, referring GP's and Consultants.
You will need to be enthusiastic, flexible and a motivated team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
You will require a high level of tact, diplomacy with the ability to prioritise your own workload effectively.
Main duties of the job Audio typing of clinical correspondence.
Provide administration support for the Secretarial/Administrative teams including dealing with telephone queries, filing, post distribution.
Collection and delivery of patients notes if required.
Liaising with other departments across the hospital.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge and familiarisation of medical terminology.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Knowledge or Word, Excel, Internet and email systems.
