You're in luck as we're looking for new *female colleagues to join our amazing new support team in Peterhead on a permanent (20-35 hours per week) and relief basis.
The Role As a member of our team you'll be providing 1-2-1 support to a sociable and chatty older lady who has a learning disability.
Your main aim will be supporting her day to day needs, including meal planning, cooking, housework, personal care and medication.
We're also looking for you to be enthusiastic about participating and supporting her with her hobbies and interests including TV (news, soaps and Disney movies are particular favourites), visiting relatives, shopping, going out for lunch and arts & crafts.
About You For this opportunity, we're ideally looking for someone who has experience in caring or supportive role with the ability to lone work and have confidence to manage behaviours that can challenge.
However, the successful candidate will undergo training on a detailed and specific support plan.
Here at Cornerstone, we pay you for your training and we also fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too.
What we'll need from you:- Good communication skills A caring, patient attitude and approach A positive approach to learning The ability to maintain professional boundaries An understanding of the importance of following routines and guidelines The ability to cook Confidence in the use of computers It would be great if you also have:- A full, clean driving license (but this isn't a deal breaker for the right candidates) Shift patterns As we're dedicated to providing the best support possible, shift patterns will involve mornings, days and evenings.
Weekends, public holidays and sleepovers will also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.
The sleepover part of your shift isn't included in your contracted hours, so you will also get an additional £96 for each sleepover worked.
