Teaching Assistant - Sittingbourne Required - January 2025 Contract - Full Time, Long Term
Supply Desk are excited to be partnering with a Good Ofsted-rated primary school in Sittingbourne, seeking a caring, approachable, and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.
This full-time, long-term role will begin in January 2025 and continue until the end of the academic year.
The position will primarily involve working within a Key Stage 1 class, providing essential support to students, including those with SEND such as ASD.
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work with small groups and occasionally support the entire class.
Job Description
We are looking for an empathetic and dedicated Teaching Assistant who has experience working with children in schools, ideally with a focus on supporting children with special educational needs.
The successful applicant will collaborate closely with the class teacher to foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to individual pupils, including those with SEND, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Assist small groups and whole-class activities as needed.
Support the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued.
Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing insights with the teaching team.
Prepare teaching materials and resources as required.
Assist with classroom management and ensure a safe, orderly learning space.
Requirements: Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent).
Prior experience supporting children in schools, particularly those with SEND.
A nurturing and adaptable approach to working with young children.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the class and school.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
