SEND Teaching Assistant - Maidstone Start Date: January 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Contract Until July 2025
Salary: £80 to £100 per day, depending on experience
Supply Desk are seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants based near Maidstone for exciting long-term opportunities at a welcoming, Ofsted-rated school starting in January 2025.
This school are seeking someone with a caring, positive, and calm approach to support children with special educational needs, helping them thrive in their educational journey.
About the Role
The successful candidate will:
Work with students on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, tailoring support to individual needs.
Provide compassionate and proactive support to children with SEND, fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Contribute to the progress and development of children with a range of needs, such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language difficulties, and other learning or behavioural challenges.
Collaborate with teachers and other staff to implement effective strategies and ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who:
Lives locally to Maidstone and is ideally a driver, as this may be required for accessibility.
Has experience supporting children with a range of SEND (desirable).
Is passionate about working with children and demonstrates a caring, positive, and calm demeanour.
Is flexible, proactive, and able to adapt to changing situations.
Communicates effectively within a team and shows patience and understanding.
Has an Enhanced DBS on the update service or is willing to obtain one.
Experience with Makaton, PECS, or being Team Teach trained is advantageous but not essential.
