Supplier Quality & Development Engineer Location: Woking, UK Contract Length: 6 Months - Possible extension further 3-6 months Rate: £300 per day (PAYE) / £395 per day (Umbrella) Days: Hybrid working with 1-2 days from home after initial induction Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will ensure supplier quality and development standards align with project targets and timelines.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll oversee supplier quality assurance, risk mitigation, and process improvements to drive successful outcomes.
Principal Accountabilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster productive relationships and drive project success.
Maintain a strong on-site presence at supplier locations, supporting activities such as trials and production builds.
Conduct Supplier/Part Risk Assessments and develop mitigation strategies as required.
Provide progress updates to Purchasing and SQA Program teams, including reports on open issues, part quality (PPAP) status, and delivery forecasts.
Ensure timely completion of PPAP approvals according to the delivery schedule.
Manage the Non-PPAP part concession process, establishing a "Plan for Every Part" strategy for each build phase.
Verify Quality and Capacity targets are met according to established deliverables.
Lead the resolution of major open issues, escalating to Supplier Senior Management as necessary for swift solutions.
Develop and implement improvement strategies with suppliers, achieving quality, capacity, and risk management objectives.
Required Skills and Experience: Proficiency in PPAP, 8D Problem Solving, Supplier Quality Engineering, and Capacity Verification.
Strong background in the automotive sector, especially in quality assurance and supplier management.
Experience in extrusion and rubber manufacturing is highly desirable.
