We are looking for a number of Supplier Manufacturing Engineers for a 12 month contract based in a range of sites across the UK on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.
Our Procurement Manufacturing Engineering teams support everything the business does in the global supplier enterprise covering the Civil, Business Aviation and Defence sectors.
In this role you will be aligned to the one of the Procurement Category teams or Central Manufacturing Engineering functions accountable for the delivery of Manufacturing Engineering activities across a range of suppliers and commodities or driving business critical activities.
Covering all elements of the manufacturing product life cycle, from new product introduction through to mature component cost reduction and improvement programmes.
As a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for: Technical: Develop, implement, validate, maintain, and continuously improve manufacturing processes and / or methods of manufacture in the supply chain / to ensure capability to meet and continue to meet requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery rate and lead-time Product Definition: Capture, analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve the current and future capability of manufacturing processes and identification of improvement opportunities.
Collaboration: Proactively accesses internal and external networks of technical communities and functional teams, quality, design and project engineering, to ensure fulfilment and realisation of the product intent.
Problem Solving: Support the investigation and resolution of product and supplier technical problems with the application and use of appropriate tools.
Strategy: Identify and develop opportunities for new or improved manufacturing processes and technologies to meet or exceed current or future requirements.
What we require from the candidate: Suitably qualified or experienced Manufacturing Engineers Communication and stakeholder management skills with a strong positive attitude Technical experience of complex manufacturing, preferably within Aerospace or a related field, covering a range of process disciplines.
Complex fabrication Precision machining Investment casting Forging Special processes Inspection Working knowledge and experience of industry and Manufacturing Engineering processes and tools is highly desirable.
