About the job: As a Supplier Development Manager , you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective supplier performance, capability, and risk management within our Sub-Assemblies team.
You will manage a portfolio of suppliers, assess their capacity to meet our delivery profiles, and develop improvement plans to optimise performance.
This is an opportunity to drive excellence in supply chain management during a critical ramp-up phase in our deliveries.
Key Responsibilities: Improve supplier performance (Delivery and Quality) using lean methodologies and tools.
Conduct capacity audits to identify key bottlenecks, resources, and sub-tier mapping activities.
Manage and report on supply chain risks, ensuring that mitigation plans are in place.
Assess supplier capability for current and future delivery requirements.
Develop and implement root cause analysis and improvement plans using DMAIC techniques.
Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure supply chain excellence.
Location: Bolton or Stevenage (relocation package available) Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience Working Arrangement: Dynamic (hybrid) – 2 days per week onsite Requirements: Degree-calibre supply chain professional with experience in high-technology industries (Aerospace, Defence, Manufacturing).
Proven experience in managing and improving supplier performance.
Strong problem-solving skills, including knowledge of DMAIC methodologies.
Ability to create process flows, conduct lead time analysis, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
Desirables: SC21 Practitioner experience.
Experience working internationally in high-technology environments.
