Nightshift Supervisor – £36,502.00 + 34% shift allowance (total salary - £48,912.68)Newly Weds Foods Ltd is looking to recruit a Supervisor Production Operative in our Gluten Free Blend Department on our 24/7 continental Night Shift.
The successful candidate will be expected to work as a Supervisor Production Operative but also to assume overall responsibility for the shift in the absence of the GF Blend Manager.
You will be expected to adhere to our policies and procedures particularly in relation to food safety, health and safety and human resources.Newly Weds Foods BanburyThe Banbury site has been part of the Newly Weds Foods family since 2010.
During that time our employee team has grown, and we now employ over 250 people.
We have a Bakery, Blend factory and a dedicated Gluten Free factory.
We operate over a range of shifts in our production facilities, have on site services including a QA team, Engineers, Supply Chain, Logistics, Payroll and HR and we also have a dedicated on-site R&D team.Job Summary:To assist the Gluten Free Shift Manager by co-ordinating and supervising the department, ensuring that all plant and equipment are safely run to their optimum level, producing quality products, in line with Master Production Schedule expectations and manufacturing targets.
Ensure that all personnel within the department are fully trained and adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times.This is a working Supervisor position so will be done alongside of working within the GF Blend manufacturing.Prime ResponsibilitiesLabour:Manage and co-ordinate holidays to enable Gluten Free Blend Manager to resource shifts effectively.Manage sickness and absence, conducting disciplinary procedures when required, in line with company policy.Responsible for ensuring that correct manning is available in order to run the shift effectively in line with Master Production Schedule, liaising with recruitment agency partners where appropriateCo-ordinate all shift personnel and ensure they carry out their responsibilities in line with Newly Weds Foods health and safety and hygiene standards.Responsible for ensuring that all Operatives and Temporary Staff are adequately trained on plant, machinery, systems, procedures, personnel and health and safety practices and records are maintained.Conduct Annual Personal Development Reviews to review performance and identify training requirements.Manage the performance of Operatives and carry out disciplinary actions in line with Newly Weds Foods HR policy when requiredQuality:Co-ordinate activities to ensure the quality of product is maintained at all times ensuring Corporate Quality Standards are adhered to at all timesEnsure all manufacturing documentation is completed in an orderly, professional, timely manner and submitted to the Gluten Free Blend Manager for verificationReport and follow up to timely conclusion any technical or quality issues within the department to the Gluten Free Blend ManagerEffectively manage corrective actions as identified through Production Non Conformances and Customer Complaints through to satisfactory conclusionDevelop and maintain the Standard Operating Procedures for the Blending DepartmentPerformance:Co-ordinate activities to ensure production volumes and target dates are achieved in line with the Master Production Schedule ensuring Corporate Manufacturing Standards are adhered toLiaise and with Shift Engineers to ensure that maintenance activities are prioritised and carried out with a minimum amount of downtime to productionSanitation:· Co-ordinate activities to ensure weekly deep clean schedules are carried out efficiently and effectively in line with Corporate Sanitation StandardsIT Systems:· Report all IT Systems issues via the IT Helpdesk, ensuring priority issues are managed effectively and efficiently to minimise impact on Manufacturing· Manage "Out Of Hours" IT Systems issues as identified in the "IT Out Of Hours Procedures" document through to resolution· Report all other "Out Of Hours" IT Systems issues via the helpdesk only using the Out Of Hours telephone number for "Business Critical" issuesHealth and Safety:· Provide active leadership to drive a safety compliant culture.· Ensure that all risk assessments are identified and reviewed at the specified interval for the shift.· Ensure that all staff are trained and are compliant to all risk assessments, and standard operating procedures.· Actively contribute and deliver for your area all Corporate and Site safety initiates, policies and objectives.Other:· To assume overall responsibility for the shift in the absence of the Gluten Free Shift Manager· To be available for Newly Weds Foods stock takes· Any other duties as requiredCommunication / Meeting RequirementsAttendance is required at the following:· Blend Shift Meeting (Weekly)· Blend Production Meeting (Monthly)· Blend Review Meeting (Quarterly)KPI TargetsDowntime· Engineering Downtime 0%· Changeovers / Cleanouts TBA· All Other Issues 0%Throughput· Weighments / Man Hour 28· 1 Tonne 4 Batches Per HourWaste· Production Non Conformances 0· Manufacturing Process Waste < 1%Person specificationo Excellent Verbal and written communication skillso Proven management experience within food industryo Recognised management qualification or working towards oneo Understanding of Health & Safety and Hygiene procedureso Professional, confident self-startero Good numeracy skillso Punctual, Reliable and trustworthyo Computer literateCommitment to NWF Banbury Valueso "Collaboration" Be one Teamo "Flexibility" Be Adaptable and Proactiveo "Inspiration" Be a Role Modelo "Integrity" Do the Right Thing (First Time, Every Time)o "Efficiency" Eliminate All Kinds of Waste (Time & materials)o "Responsibility" Take Ownership and AccountabilityDesirable Qualifications/Requirementso Previous food factory experience, preferably FMCGo Negotiation/delegation skillso Training and development experienceTerms and conditions include:Job title / Salary – Gluten Free Blend Supervisor / £36,502.00+ 34% Shift Allowance (total salary -
