Hourly Rate: £25-28 per hour (PAYE)
Location: Bournemouth
Working Days: Monday to Friday (Term-time only)
Hours: 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM (flexible working)
Languages Required: Fluent English and Arabic/French
Provision: 1:1 ESOL Sessions with a focus on SEN, SEMH, SEMD, and medical needs
Role Overview
As an Outreach ESOL Teacher, you will support children with English language development, focusing on pronunciation, communication, and vocabulary building.
Sessions will occur during school hours across multiple days each week.
You will play a key role in creating a safe and supportive learning environment, fostering engagement with young individuals, including those with special educational needs (SEN), by developing their confidence, language skills, and overall communication abilities.
Teaching may take place in residential or community settings, depending on the individual's needs.
Your responsibilities will also include working with children who present with complex needs, such as difficulties in self-regulation, processing emotions, or reluctance to engage in communication.
Key Responsibilities Design and deliver tailored learning experiences to meet each child's unique needs, considering sensory sensitivities, home environments, and safety concerns.
Provide guidance to families, offering strategies to support the individual's development outside of sessions.
Teach with patience, understanding, and empathy.
Enhance students' vocabulary, pronunciation, and language proficiency in English.
Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating behaviours and values that promote growth and learning.
Eligibility Requirements Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE).
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching ESOL, with prior delivery of ESOL sessions in the UK.
Skills: Strong command of the English language and experience working with SEN. Compliance: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service and the right to work in the UK.
Knowledge: Familiarity with safeguarding policies and practices.
