Job Description Bucklesham Primary School - Ipswich, Suffolk, IP10 0AX £24,790 per annum pro rata 30 hours per week, term time only Fixed Term until July 2026 Reference: 6832 Required from February 2025
We are looking for a teaching assistant initially for 2 years but likely to extend, to support in Year 1 and 2 mixed age class.
This could be one person for the whole week, or a job share between 2 people.
We are looking for someone ideally with a clear understanding of the KS1 curriculum and the EYFS Framework and experience in this age range, including how to adapt for SEND needs.
This will be to provide 2:1 support for two children in the class; previous experience of speech and language therapy and supporting children with complex needs would be desirable.
You will need to: be flexible and adaptable be calm and patient be cheerful and friendly have great interpersonal and communication skills be able to use own initiative as well as being able to work as part of a team have a good understanding of the Key Stage you are working in be able to take the initiative and adapt work to the child or situation value our children in their richness and diversity be committed to our school vision for all adults and children to be 'working hard, aiming high' be committed to safeguarding children work both in the classroom and out of the classroom You will be: working in our school and supporting an individual child, or group of children as the teacher directs working under the direction of a teacher following class planning and supporting children feeding back to the teacher and commenting on progress towards the set targets supporting individual children within the class and on the playground preparing work such as group games, 1:1 or 2:1 directed work, or interventions using a variety of methods passionate about supporting the development of children.
