We are certain this role will remind you of why you chose nursing as a career pathway.As our Substance Misuse Nurse based in Stoke on Trent, you will provide a range of Health and Wellbeing, and harm reduction interventions to our clients in accordance with the agreed model of service delivery.
You will deliver high standards of nursing care to substance misusers and be responsible for the assessment of care needs, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.This role is full time and fixed term until March 2026.
The salary for this role is £26,880 - £36,225 per annum.Main ResponsibilitiesYou will be an advocate for our clients, working closely with them to identify the physical, psychological, spiritual and social support they need.
You will work flexibly providing a high standard of nursing care in a variety of settings, promoting the health and well-being of clients whilst maintaining a safe, caring and therapeutic environment.
This role will role have an emphasis on Hepatitis C treatment and BBV testing and treatment.
As a Substance Misuse Nurse you will participate as an active member of the nursing and multi-disciplinary teams, being accountable for your practice, and working in partnership with other health care professionals and others in the delivery of care.Required SkillsEssential Criteria Registered Nurse with Valid registration via the NMCDemonstrable experience of comprehensive assessment of need including risk assessmentsKnowledge of safe storage, handling and administration of drugs in particular controlled drugsKnowledge and understanding of NMC code of conductKnowledge of risk assessment and management and its implementationUnderstanding of the roles, responsibilities and structures of agencies involved in responding to drug and alcohol issuesDemonstrable ability to work constructively with a wide variety of groups and individuals in a range of settings and work rolesStrong communication skills, both verbal and written A full description can be provided upon request.About The CompanyEveryone should feel comfortable getting the support they need for issues with drugs, alcohol or mental health.At We Are With You we work with people on their own goals, whether that's staying safe and healthy, making small changes or stopping an unwanted habit altogether.
