Government Property Profession Career Framework (Link) This role sits within the following: Job Family Strategic Asset Management Core Role Property Data Management Level Practitioner Key accountabilities Understand the strategic drivers for Estates, aligning activities to contribute to the wider DWP organisation priorities to understand how the strategies and activities of the team create value and meet the diverse needs of all stakeholders Support evidence based decision making and shaping into the development of the Estates Strategic Portfolio Plan, using data and MI from the Estates team, Integrator and supplier partner network in conjunction with the intelligence gathered from our customers to determine our strategic view and optimal use of the estate Analyse business and portfolio data and insights to provide the strategic portfolio lens to translate and apply this information to shape and form an effective strategic portfolio plan.
Understanding and incorporating the strategic drivers of Estates and our stakeholders Support the optimisation of the DWP property portfolio based on lease events, market opportunities and business requirements, consulting with others to ensure the potential impacts on end users have been considered Factor demand, scenario plan and analysis of the options available to optimising the estate, bringing together views, perspectives and diverse needs of stakeholders to gain a broad understanding of the issues surrounding activities and plans Identify spaces with potential to accommodate demand highlighting if requiring re-design, consolidation, space reallocation or relinquishment Develop long term strategic space needs in order to proactively address demand and ensure the best use of Portfolio space ensuring stakeholders and colleagues have a clear understanding of objectives, activities and timeframes Analyse and use a range of relevant, credible information to evaluate properties and assessing opportunities for their reallocation or disposition Encourage joined up teamwork and collaboration in assisting project team in the early analysis of real estate needs Work in collaboration with internal DWP estates team, Integrator and Landlord, Leasehold Management (LLM) to facilitate the renewal strategies for properties across the portfolio, collaborating to share information, resources and support as required Analyses business challenges and opportunities that emerge across the Department through the development of feasibility management, financial appraisal and return on investment analysis Assist project team in the early analysis of real estate needs, challenging assumptions whilst being willing to compromise if beneficial to progress Person specification Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience Experience within a Real Estate and property profession discipline Experience in supporting the development of Estates function strategy and business plans through the analysis of customer insight and data driven decision making Understanding of strategic portfolio modelling techniques, feasibility analysis and scenario planning A strategic thinker with experience in obtaining, managing analysing and procuring data Ability to understand clients business needs and be solution based in approach Experience of strategic modelling techniques and creating reporting structures Ability to analyse and manipulate data for reporting and create documents and reports including presentations, schedules etc Ability to lead and influence supplier relationships Work openly & collaboratively, and in an inclusive way Qualifications/professional memberships Desirable Holding or working towards RICS (MRICS/FRICS) qualification desirable but not essential where relevant experience can clearly be demonstrated Behaviours We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process: Seeing the Big Picture Changing and Improving Communicating and Influencing Delivering at Pace Benefits Alongside your salary of 42,614, Department for Work and Pensions contributes 12,345 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.

This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work.
The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account.

This will form a short list for interview.
STAGE 2 - INTERVIEW All candidates who are successful at the sift stage will undertake a single virtual video interview.
The interview will follow a blended approach which will help us assess candidates Behaviours and Strengths.
You will also be asked an additional question to validate your knowledge which will be measured against the essential criteria as specified in the vacancy.
Currently the sift is scheduled to take place w/c 9 December 2024and interview dates are yet to be confirmed but likely early January 2025.
Interviews are scheduled to take place virtually and dates are subject to change.
