Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Stock Management Specialist to join our team.
The Parenteral Services Unit is a busy manufacturing unit specialising in preparation of Chemotherapy and Parenteral Nutrition.
The Stock Management Specialist will play a crucial role in the safe, efficient operation of the unit, ensuring that essential materials are available, inventory is accurately managed, and all handling processes meet the strict regulatory standards in place for aseptic manufacture in an NHS pharmacy unit.The successful candidate will be required to work within a large Pharmacy team, and must be able to communicate complex information effectively and appropriately with internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate must have excellent time management skills, an ability to manage their own workload and have experience in staff supervision and training.
As this is a newly created role, the successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to shape and define it, bringing their own expertise and vision to the role.

Person Specification Qualifications and Training Essential Relevant qualification CIPS Level 2 or 3, or equivalent experience in pharmacy stock management/procurement Evidence of continuous professional development, relevant training courses Knowledge and Experience Essential Considerable experience of procurement / stock management in a Hospital / Pharmacy setting Evidence of working with diverse stakeholder groups (For example, customers/clients/suppliers) Evidence of using computerised ordering/stock management systems, CMM Demonstrable experience of planning, development or service improvement Experience in staff supervision and training Desirable A working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP) Skills and Abilities Essential Staff management skills, including motivational skills Organisational skills specifically related to staff, workflow and documentation systems Good time management - ability to prioritise and organise own and others' work to meet agreed deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Computer literate word processing, use of spreadsheets and presentations Aptitudes Essential Positive approach to change Able to work alone and as a member of a multidisciplinary team Self-motivated and able to motivate others Attention to detail Flexible approach Ability to use own initiative appropriately
