Securing success accountability and improvement of the delivery of STEPS the New Arrival Centre by:
Leading and managing the day-to-day activities of the New Arrival Centre, implementing the Local Authority policies and procedures. Developing a holistic family-centred approach to supporting the needs of children and young people and their families who are new to Sandwell. Being proactive in consulting partner agencies including the Local Authority, voluntary organisations, associated stakeholders, carers/partners, schools and young people.Be an outstanding teacher with at least 5 years mainstream school teaching experience. Experience of being a SENCo, Designated Teacher, Designated Safeguarding Lead, with an expertise of working with EAL children. Experience of leadership and the ability to motivate colleagues and vulnerable (New to UK) children and their families. Safeguard young people. Ability to manage time, working to deadlines and priorities workload.We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Centre Manager to join the award-winning Sandwell's Transition, Education and Partnership Service (STEPS).
As a strategic leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the centre and work in partnership with the Executive Head Teacher to deliver on STEPS key aims:
Successful admission of New Arrivals into the Centre.Support for new arrival families.Timely and appropriate placements of children into school.Supporting the transition of children to schools including a competencies assessment.STEPS is committed to inclusion and preparation of young people for school. Approximately 450 young people attend the centre throughout the year. You will be instrumental in delivering a high-quality experience for them and their families while they are with us. Your experience in community engagement and school leadership will be a real asset to STEPS as you act as an influential advocate to strengthen our profile with local schools, stakeholders and the communities we are so proud to serve.
