Our client is a renowned bespoke precast concrete manufacturer, specialising in producing custom-made concrete products for a wide range of construction projects.
To support their growing demand, they are seeking skilled Steel Fixers to join their dedicated team.
As a Steel Fixer, you will be responsible for assembling and fixing the steel reinforcement necessary to reinforce precast concrete products.
Your role will be integral in ensuring that the concrete elements we produce are strong, durable, and built to exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and construction plans to determine the specific steel reinforcement requirements.
Cut, bend, and fix steel bars, mesh, and steel frameworks into position inside formwork for precast concrete.
Secure reinforcement bars and mesh with correct spacing and alignment to ensure structural integrity.
Work closely with the shuttering joiners and production team to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company quality control measures.
Inspect and maintain steel fixing equipment and tools to ensure they are in proper working condition.
Key Requirements: Proven experience as a Steel Fixer, preferably within the precast concrete industry.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and reinforcement schedules.
Excellent knowledge of steel reinforcement techniques and materials.
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools relevant to steel fixing.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Good understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to steel fixing work.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills: Experience working on bespoke or custom concrete precast projects.
Familiarity with the different types of reinforcement systems and materials used in the industry.
Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
