Job Title: Steelfixer Location: Somerset Role Overview: As a Steelfixer, you will support the team in the safe installation of rebar to meet Nuclear quality standards.
This is part of an ambitious project to deliver a sustainable and productive nuclear new build that brings significant benefits to local and UK-wide communities while setting a benchmark for future projects.
Key Responsibilities: * Position and secure steel reinforcement bars or mesh to reinforce concrete structures.
* Read and interpret reinforcement plans, drawings, and schedules.
* Set out and prepare materials, including bending and cutting steel to required specifications.
* Assemble and position reinforcement accurately using tying wire and tools.
* Fabricate specialized reinforcement units and join prefabricated sections for large-scale construction.
* Ensure readiness of reinforcement for concrete pours in line with quality and safety standards.
Key Skills & Attributes: * Ability to work effectively in a construction environment.
* Proficient in using hand and power tools.
* Physically capable of lifting and handling heavy objects.
* Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
* Team player with the ability to follow instructions precisely.
Qualifications: * CSCS Skilled Worker Card (Blue).
* Training in working at heights (e.g., Scissor lift, IPAF, Harness training).
* Abrasive Wheels certification.
* Competence in interpreting both 2D drawings and 3D models.
Additional Considerations: Proven ability to execute verbal and written instructions.
Comfortable working outdoors and performing routine manual labor tasks.
