Salary: Up to £40,000 (dependent on experience and skills) Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7 am 4 pm Holiday: 30 days Benefits: Overtime paid at 1.25x after 48 hours 3% Company Pension Life Assurance (3x salary) 6-month probation period Our client in Newport, Shropshire, is looking for an experienced Facilities and Building Services Technician to maintain site functionality and perform essential repairs.
This role requires a broad skill set, including electrical and plumbing expertise, familiarity with plant room equipment (air compressors, refrigeration units, AHUs), and basic carpentry skills.
Your versatility will support a variety of tasks, from re-hanging doors and fixing leaky taps to changing light bulbs and transporting equipment.
Key Responsibilities: Maintenance and Repairs : Conduct routine electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs as required around the site, including work in plant rooms.
Equipment Handling : Assist with deliveries and collections, moving necessary equipment and materials throughout the site.
Driving : A valid drivers license is required to facilitate transportation needs across the facility.
Technical Skills : Basic Excel proficiency and willingness to learn a new maintenance planning system (CMMS).
Ideal Candidate: Demonstrated experience in electrical and plumbing work with knowledge of plant room systems Basic carpentry skills with an ability to handle a variety of site maintenance tasks Physically fit and capable of handling equipment transportation across the site Detail-oriented and team-driven, adept at managing multiple maintenance requests Comfortable adapting to CMMS software for maintenance tracking and planning This role is an excellent fit for a multi-skilled technician who enjoys working in a varied and active environment.
