Job summary We are looking for nurses to join our team working at our brand new flagship service.Brainkind Neurological Centre York, is a purpose-built 40-bed state-of-the-art independent hospital., providing high-quality neuropsychiatric, neurobehavioral assessment and rehabilitation for people following an acquired brain injury with a range of additional mental health and physical conditions.

Job description Job responsibilities MAIN PURPOSELead, develop and supervise a team of Rehabilitation Support Workers tosupport, guide and enable service users with brain injury in the performance ofdaily living functions and the development of personal skills and potential.
To support with assessment and also develop, plan and implementindividually tailored therapeutic programmes of care and rehabilitation.The post holder will contribute to the ongoing development of theservice provision, through delivery and maintenance of high standards ofevidence based clinical care and safety.MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for Team Seniors and Rehabilitation Support WorkersEnsure the team provide a high standard of care for all service users.Contribute to the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation ofprogrammes of care as part of the interdisciplinary team.To participate in the holistic assessment of service users care andsupport needs after admission to the service.To act as key worker and advocate for designated service users;liaising closely with other key workers and professionals including reportwriting, assessments, and recording of information.To participate in planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting ofthe progress and outcome of service users individual goals and objectives.To provide individualised, evidence based holistic care and approach toservice users and their carers.Exercise sound clinical leadership by example and instruction.Competently carry out clinical procedures and use appropriate clinicalequipment within scope of practice seeking advice and further development whenrequiredPromote effective confidential communication with service users,relatives, families, carers and colleagues (including external personnel)providing information and support to assist decision-making and be willing toadvocate on the service users behalf.Ensure that the custody and administration of drugs is in accordancewith both the statutory obligations and those in the service.Where appropriate in conjunction with the Units Mental Health ActAdministrator, or by seeking appropriate advice ensure that the legal andadministrative requirements are strictly adhered to.Assist where indicated in the acceptance and administration of serviceusers detained under the Mental Health Act (1983)Assist as appropriate in supporting as service user under a Deprivationof Liberty Safeguard.
Be able to discuss with the service user, and thoseinvolved in care and support what this means and the affects it may haveEnsure that accurate records are kept on all service users in line withthe Nursing and Midwifery Councils (NMC) Record Keeping Guidance for nursesand Midwives and in line with company policy.
To implement an appropriate planof care/rehabilitation which is evidence based, and with service userinvolvement throughout.Ensure all behavioural/clinical recordings for each service user arecompleted as agreed by the multidisciplinary team.Demonstrate negotiation skills in the management of conflict across a rangeof situations, and offer support to colleagues.Act in a way that acknowledges peoples rights and choices to maketheir own decisions and recognise their responsibilities in intervention plans.Attend and contribute to any meetings for service users as requiredcompleting all relevant paperwork to utilise within the meeting.To undertake, any reasonable travelling requirements, in order tofulfil the tasks and responsibilities of the role.
To include driving Brainkinds and service user vehicles, ensuringservice user activities/appointments are fulfilled.To undertake any other duties as may from time to time be specified by Brainkind,that is within the level and responsibility appropriate to the grade of post Person Specification Qualifications Essential A RMN/RNLD nursing qualification.
Registration.
Proven experience of primary nurse teams; their development and function.
Demonstrate relevant understanding of the statutory requirements applicable to the service The Healthcare Commission.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Proven experience of supervising staff with the ability to empower staff, adhere to employment law legislation and delegate tasks.
An understanding and commitment to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and an alignment to the Brainkind values.
Desirable Experience of writing reports and detailed assessments.
Demonstrate relevant understanding of the challenges associated with working with people with an acquired brain injury and associated mental disorder.
Knowledge or understanding of working within the Independent Healthcare sector.
Relevant experience of organising and delivering staff training according to identified needs.
