Job summary Opportunity for X2 FT Staff nurse for 12months Fixed Term We are currently seeking a motivated and committed Band 5 nurse to join our friendly and dedicated Surgical team at Scunthorpe General Hospital.
Ward 28 based at Scunthorpe General Hospital is a busy 18 bedded Elective surgical ward for pre and post operative patients undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures in general surgery, colorectal, urology.
We also have 2 x 4 bedded high observation bays where patients who have had more complex surgeries/conditions are cared for.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident nurse with excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills who will support the ward to maintain high standards of care.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain skills in working in acute care of the surgical patient.
All applicants should demonstrate a keen interest in care of the surgical patient and previous experience within a surgical setting would be extremely desirable although not essential.

Person Specification education and qualification Essential Registered Nurse Desirable Evidence of Post Registration development in surgery or willingness to work towards BSC in nursing Qualified mentor Occupational experience Essential Minimum six months post registration experience Completion of preceptorship programme.
