If so, we are looking for full and part time employees tojoin our Neuro Rehabilitation Unit (NRU) at Kendray Hospital.The NRU is a 12 bedded local specialist rehabilitationunit that provides a neurological rehabilitation service which enables patientswith long term neurological conditions including patients with an acute injuryor episode, to access rehabilitation that is coordinated, timely &responsive to patient needs.Staff Nurses will work in partnership with a multi professional team contributing tothe ongoing assessment, providing care & monitoring the condition & healthneeds of patients on a continual basis in partnership with themulti-professional team.We are committed to delivering high standards ofmulti-disciplinary patient focused care; the post holder would be an integralpart of this process and will be essential to improving service delivery.At the time of advertising, this role does meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration to sponsor candidates to work in the UK.

Main duties of the job As Staff Nurse on our specialist NRU you willUndertake comprehensive health care needsassessment.Work within a multi-professional team.Contribute actively to the rehabilitationprocess working alongside therapy colleagues.All employees of the Trust are strongly encouraged to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to protect patients.Provide high standards of nursing care asdefined by the patients care plan, reviewing & updating when care needschange & evidence this.Act as a practice supervisor, to nursingassistants & students to support their learning/development.Havethe ability to communicate effectively, with sensitivity & compassion &manage relationships with people.You will havethe skills & breadth ofknowledge providing holistic person-centred care & support.The right candidate will be willing to learn & progresstheir knowledge, be committed to teamwork & delivering high quality patientcare.

Job description Job responsibilities To provide clinical nursing tothe highest standard within the ward maintaining a clean safe environment.To provide and maintain a highquality of individualised patient care by effectively using all availableresources.To assess, implement, monitorand evaluate the care and treatment of all inpatients in partnership with thepatient and their relatives or carers.To establish good workingrelationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team.Designated to take charge regularly ofthe ward, which provides rehabilitation, respite and continuing care in theabsence of the Sister or Charge Nurse.To supervise and delegate care according toother team members (and your own)skills and competences in the absence of the sister or charge nurse.Identifypotential problems and report them to sister/manager.Participatein the teaching, education and training of all ward based staff includingstudent nurses, post registration students, NVQ students, patients andrelatives or carers.Required on an ad hoc basis to be seniornurse bleep holder.

Person Specification PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Essential A proactive and motivated individual demonstrating empathy, compassion and understanding towards individuals physical, social, psychological and emotional needs.

A satisfactory sickness record over the previous 2 years (subject to the need to act with fairness and equality of opportunity, particularly where the sickness is related to a disability and/or pregnancy).
Flexible working/Unsociable hours (Earlies, Lates, Nights & Weekends) SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS Essential Ability to communicate verbally at all levels and possess good written skills in line with record keeping standards.

Must have high clinical standards when dealing with patients.
Ability to teach, mentor, and act as a role model.
Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
Knowledge of Health & Safety issues including risk management and safeguarding.
Knowledge of Infection Control Ability to work on own initiative Basic IT skills.
Knowledge of current issues affecting health and social care.
Experience Essential Experience of working with stroke / neurological patients in a nursing / rehabilitation setting.
Experience of working within a multi disciplinary team.
Qualifications Essential 1st level Registered Nurse Current NMC registration TRAINING Essential Evidence of CPD.
Desirable Experience of mentoring/supporting learners or ability to demonstrate the skills required for effective mentoring.
