Job summary Due to promotion Short Stay Unit (SSU), at UHNM has a rare band 5 vacancy opportunity to fill.
Our SSU at UHNM consists of 36 beds comprising of bay beds and side rooms .
Treating a variety of medical patients who can be discharged or transferred to their appropriate speciality, within a 72 hour time period SSU, is a fast pace environment with a quick turnover of patientsOur new starters are supported by our exceptional practice education nurse, who have developed a competency package for the unit.
We aim to provide staff of all grades with the essential knowledge and skills required in our busy, friendly department.
New starters will be given a period of supernumerary time with a well organised local induction.
Main duties of the job In this post you will be responsible for the assessment of patients, and providing an effective care pathway within SSU.
We are committed to developing a culture in line with our values that improves quality and enhances the patient experience, and you will play a vital part in developing new ways of working to achieve this goal.
Candidates will be a first level registered nurse.
You must be flexible to the demands of the service and be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication skills are essential for this and part time hours, are available, 7 days including weekends and public holidays, 12 hour shifts.
36/ hour contracts available.
