Job summary An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team in Ward 18, a 26-bedded general medical escalation ward.
The ward provides care for patients with various general medical conditions hence a good opportunity for you to be involved with patients from the various specialities.
Main duties of the job As Staff Nurse, you will be working closely with the Junior sister, Senior Sister and Matron, playing an integral role in driving changes with a range of comprehensive orientation and support.We can offer you a range of management and leadership development opportunities to support you in this role.
Essential skills key to this role are implementing and maintaining high clinical standards whilst caring for patients, enhancing staff personal development, providing guidance, support and expertise to clinical staff.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Current (or pending) NMC Registration (first or second level).
Desirable Dementia course or study days Experience Essential Self-motivated and uses own initiative Innovative and enthusiastic Assertive and self-confident Awareness of current professional nursing issues Desirable Experience in caring for elderly patients who have dementia Previous managing patients with chronic conditions Skills & Knowledge Essential Effective communication skills (written and verbal) Time management and delegation skills Able to train and supervise junior staff Good interpersonal skills with the ability to manage difficult / stressful situations Able to prioritise workload (self and others) and meet deadlines Desirable EPIC
