Job summary Following a retendering process, the children's service is due to be transferred to the new provider on the 1st of April 2025.
Given this post sits within the transferring service, in line with the legislative requirements, the successful candidate will be part of the TUPE transfer along with other colleagues.This is an exciting challenge for a motivated NMC registered Nurse or Midwife to join our experienced skill mixed 0-19 team based in Dorking, Leatherhead, Banstead and Tattenham.The ideal candidate for our team would be a clinical practitioner with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Job description Job responsibilities Purpose The post holder will be a member of the 0-19 public health team delivering the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme.
Supported by the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse(SCPHN), the post holder will participate in delivering a universal core service, provide targeted interventions, to address health inequalities and where necessary referring to specialist services.
This role will also include safeguarding responsibilities, mentorship of students and staff appraisals.Principal duties to include: Undertake duties as allocated by the SCPHN.
Build and develop good working relationships the wider multi-disciplinary team.
Make contact with children and families in a variety of community settings home, children centres, child health drop-ins To undertake development assessments when trained to do so To deliver Health Promotion activities to parents and young children To carry out visits to review aspects of development as directed by the SCPHN To manage a delegated case load Assist in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme 0-19 Provide evidence based care to parents and children breast feeding , behaviour management Provide enuresis advice and continence assessments Identify and support children and families through health needs assessments who have unmet health needs, provide support and targeted interventions and where necessary refer to specialist services Take appropriate action in cases of suspected or actual child abuse, working within Surrey safeguarding childrens code of practice and procedures.
Attend child protection conferences/core groups as required and participate in safeguarding supervision Undertake health needs assessments for children who are Looked After Assist in research and service audits Supervise junior member of the 0-19 team as directed by the SCPHN.
Undertake junior staff PDR appraisals and direct line management.
Take an active part in clinical supervision Participate in meetings as appropriate Be prepared to be flexible within contracted hours In accordance with the needs of the service, undertake other duties as requiredCommunication skills Be skilled at adapting language and professional approach to a varied client group Be proficient in presenting health promotion sessions to differing sizes of groups.
