Job summary An exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to gain endoscopyexperience based at Kidderminster Treatment Centre, providing a wide range ofdiagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and pre-assessment clinics.The successful candidates will join our friendly and dynamic team todeliver safe and high-quality care to patients using a patient centredapproach.We offerexcellent learning and development opportunities, with support from a Professional Development Team.
Opportunities for career progression is available Main duties of the job To workaccording to the NMC Code and relevant professional guidelines and frameworksincluding the Trust 4wards behaviour providing a holistic effective andefficient Endoscopy service to the local population.Toparticipate in handling complaints in accordance with Trust policy.To assistin the assessment of staffing requirements and reporting problems to theappropriate manager.Toprovide high quality nursing care and participate in the assessment, planning,implementation and evaluation of the care needs for the patient group withinEndoscopy.Todeliver compassionate person-centred care and treat patients, service users,their families and their careers with consideration, dignity and the respectyou would want for yourself or your family.Tosupport Endoscopy Pre-Assessment team and endoscopy services acrss the county as required.Toparticipate in preceptorship programmes as appropriate and act as afacilitator, mentor and role model to student nurse and junior staff.To beresponsible for developing and sustaining your own knowledge, clinical skillsand professional awareness in accordance with NMC requirements and to maintaina professional portfolio with evidence of reflective practice.

Job description Job responsibilities The post holder is required to workacross sites supporting the Endoscopy Directorate and in other departments asrequired.To be able to rotate through allareas of endoscopy to include admissions, recovery, discharge, pre-assessmentand in procedure rooms.To provide specialist nursing careand support to all patients and users of all aspects of the Endoscopy service.To act as endoscopy representativeoutside of the endoscopy unit in theatres / A&E To work as part of themultidisciplinary team to ensure effective and efficient scheduling of patients/ procedures occur.To independently manage the smoothand effective running of clinics, ensuring patients are kept informed withregards to waiting times.Undertake a wide range of morecomplex nursing procedures requiring the application of specialist expertiseand knowledge and act as a source of reference.As part of future developments helpdevelop and actively take part in the provision 7 days per weekservice.Ability to undertake manual handlingand movement tasks and wear appropriate protective equipment.Prepared and able to work variableshift patterns early and late shifts over 7 days of the week.Awareness of self-presentation topatients and relatives Person Specification Qualifications Essential Qualified Registered Nurse with NMC PIN Other Qualities Essential Suitable applicant must be flexible with work schedule Knowledge & Skills Essential Knowledge of Cannulation and Gastroenterology or a willingness to learn Desirable Cannulation and venepuncture skills IV drug administration
