Job summary We are looking for Band 5 Nurses to join us across the site.
We have vacancies within our Basildon Mental Health Unit site including our male acute inpatient ward, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and our Assessment Unit.The team consist of a consultant psychiatrists, nurses, occupational/art/music therapists, physiotherapists, health care workers and work collaboratively with the Community team.
Main duties of the job Patients receive individualised care and treatment based on the Care Programme Approach (CPA) which highlights crisis management and a place of safety, specialised risk assessments and risk management, intensive assessment, treatment and therapy, stabilisation of acute symptoms and relapse prevention.The service offers: Assistance to acquire and enhance coping skills that promote and enable self- help and the self-management of mental health problems and difficultiesCollaborative, structured approach towards assisting people to achieve their own recoveryDiverse range of care interventionsIndividualised planning of treatment and careSpecialist mental health and risk assessment Staff in these wards work closely with the Crisis Resolution and HomeTreatment Teams (CRHT) and the Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT).

Job description Job responsibilities To be successful you should have experience of working within a care setting and have a good understanding of social care or a willingness to learn the process, whilst working under the direction of senior staff.We are looking for people who can bring commitment, reliability, enthusiasm and determination to take forward our service in new and innovative ways.
In return we offer training and development of staff, support through regular Supervision and Appraisal, assisting you in setting realistic objectives.If successful you will be involved with a wide multi-disciplinary team caring for adults.
It is essential that you are interested in and excited at the opportunity to work with adult people, but training will be provided.
You will care for your patients holistically, and work in a Multi- disciplinary setting .
You will be able to adapt quickly to changing situations and provide high quality care to your patients.
Person Specification Education/Qualifications Essential Registration Mental Health Nurse RMN Part 3 Meet the requirements for revalidation as set out by the NMC Good standard of written and spoken English Knowledge Essential Knowledge and understanding of health legislation, principles of CPA and Care Management, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act 1983 and safeguarding, the NHS Constitution, and risk assessment / management Understanding of / and the ability to conduct assessments and review of care in line with the requirements of the mental health care clusters The ability to devise comprehensive care plans that incorporate effective, individualised and evidence-based therapy interventions Skills/Experience Essential Literate in IT/Computer Skills Team working skills Able to formally supervise junior colleagues
