Staff Accountant

PE Global are currently recruiting for a Staff Accountant for a contract role with a leading multinational Diesel Engine Manufacturing client based in Peterlee. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of accounting processes and reporting, and provide support to the Articulated Trucks facility. This is an excellent opportunity to gain visibility of the financial inputs and outputs of the Articulated Truck division, including complex global intercompany transactions, act as a trusted business advisor for the Product Line teams, and obtain valuable exposure and experience in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities • Month end routine processes, including Journals, Prepayments, Accruals and General Ledger reporting.
• Accounts Receivable entries from daily Sales invoicing.
• Investigate and resolve issues relating to accounting transactions or systems.
• Collaborating with cross functional partners to ensure robust procedures and accurate accounting records, including budget management.
• Support external and internal audits, including Sarbanes Oxley controls.
Requirements • At least or 5 years' experience within a book keeping / accountancy role.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
• Experience with working within the manufacturing industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisation skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Adaptability and able to fit into a dynamic and fast-moving accounting team and global business.
• Capable of working both on own initiative and within a team.
