Sr Manager, PACE, AGS Tech Field LATAM PACEAmazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a solutions architects manager with strong software engineering skills and a passion for delivering solutions that accelerate our customers' ability to innovate on our platform. You will be part of a tight-knit team of innovative practitioners who are obsessed with understanding the needs of our customers and have the skills to partner with them in experimenting with new ideas that can open up new markets or radically change how they deliver existing products/services. Our goal is to double our customers' inventiveness by doubling the number of experiments they can run (Jeff Bezos).
In this role, you will need to be technically capable and credible in your own right as well as effective in shaping the customer and solutions-focused skills of your team. You will have ownership in hiring and developing a team that is inclusive, innovative, and operates with high standards. You must enjoy learning and introducing new technology in order to help colleagues and customers embrace and adopt new technology. You will create an environment where high-judgment failure is embraced so your team can move fast without compromising on research time that is required to experiment with new ideas. You will need to have a product-focused approach by looking beyond the technology and considering the value the AWS cloud creates for our customers in developing new products and services. You will also need to be adept at interacting, communicating, and partnering with other departments within AWS such as our services teams, marketing, and professional services, as well as representing your team to executive management.
Key job responsibilitiesUnderstand and anticipate our customers' business needs and accelerate their ability to innovate by building working prototypes that evolve into reusable solutions (i.e. industry accelerators).Drive the AWS platform by aligning customer requirements with AWS service teams' roadmaps.Identify and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community and beyond through industry conferences and events.Guide and motivate the development and/or author AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers, tutorials, blogs, etc.Position requires travel — generally 25%.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS5+ years of management of technical, enterprise customer-facing resources or equivalent experience.5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.Bachelor's degree.Experience architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience architecting, migrating, transforming, or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
