Sr. C++/Rust Software Development Engineer

Overview We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic C++ or Rust Software Engineer to help us develop high performance, cross-platform, spatial analysis and visualization capabilities for mobile and desktop devices, leveraging the latest General-Purpose Graphics Processing Unit (GPGPU) technologies.Esri is the world leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

Responsibilities Innovate to articulate and solve complex problemsDesign and develop high-quality software components that follow industry-standard design patterns, development methodologies, and deployment modelsApply and promote good software engineering practices such as test automation, modularization, simplificationWork effectively with members of other software development teams in an agile, interactive, and creative environmentFind, analyse, and fix bugs and performance problems whenever and wherever they occur Requirements 5+ years of commercial software development experienceFluent in and passionate about modern C++ (11/14/17/20) or RustTrack record of implementing high performance, parallel algorithmsExperience with scientific or GPU computationEffective time management and organisational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsBachelors degree in Computer Science or related STEM field Recommended Qualifications Familiarity with GIS applications and technologiesCross-platform development, profiling, and debuggingUnderstanding of scientific, spatial and graphics algorithms and software design patternsExperience with CUDA, Direct3D, Metal, OpenGL, Vulkan, WebGL, or WebGPU, and compute shader programmingExperience with agile development methodologies (such as Scrum)Master' degree in Computer Science or related STEM field -------------------------------Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy.
Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is £48, - £78,.
