Job Title: SQL Database Administrator (DBA) Location: Onsite in Cardiff Contract Duration: 12 Months Ideally looking for someone on a part time, 3 day a week basis, however full time is considered Job Description: We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator to join our team in Cardiff for a 12-month contract.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining SQL databases to ensure their performance, security, and availability.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled DBA to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to our database management strategies.
Key Responsibilities: Administer, maintain, and support SQL databases in a production environment.
Perform regular database performance tuning, optimisation, and monitoring.
Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance.
Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity.
Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
Maintain documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies.
Assist in capacity planning and future database upgrades.
Qualifications: Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator or similar role.
Strong knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL, and database design principles.
Experience with backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, and monitoring tools.
Familiarity with database security standards and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teams.
