Job summary Speech and Language Therapy Support Practitioner - (Adult Team) We have an exciting opportunity within the speech and language therapy (SLT) team as an entry level support practitioner.
The successful candidate will be working with the adult team based at New Cross Hospital.
We are looking for someone who has a broad knowledge of SLT and a passion for working with adults in a hospital setting.
The successful candidate may be a school leaver or a mature person looking to expand their experience.
The SLT team delivers a communication and dysphagia service to all adults across New Cross hospital, this includes: Stroke; frailty; ED; acute medical unit; frailty; intensive care; head and neck cancer.
The successful candidate will be kind and caring, compassionate and work well within a team and be self motivated with the ability to work under own initiative following a period of training.
Main duties of the job To assist with the direct care of patients as delegated to and supervised by The Speech and Language Therapist.
To provide support to the team, working collaboratively with members of the multi-disciplinaryteam and contributing positively to the delivery of high-quality compassionate care To uphold the fundamental standards of safety and quality always putting the patients first and protecting them from harm.
Demonstrate thevalues of the NHS and commitment to personal and professional development.
