Job summary Are you a passionate Speech and Language Therapist lookingto make a meaningful impact on the lives of adults with communication andswallowing difficulties?Barnsley Hospital NHS Trust are seeking an experienced anddedicated Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join their team at Barnsley Hospital.This role focuses on providing high-quality clinicalexpertise for the assessment, diagnosis, and management of adult inpatients onacute wards who present with communication and/or swallowing difficulties,including complex cases.By joining NHS Professionals and working on the bankat Barnsley, you can instantly help the Trust to continue to improve the lifechances and wellness of the diverse communities across Barnsley.
Main duties of the job Providing expert clinical advice and managementfor adults with communication and/or swallowing disorders, including those withtracheostomies.Leading the planning and day-to-day operationsof the Speech and Language Therapy service in the acute hospital setting.Demonstrating sound clinical judgment andcreating individualized care plans, while being flexible with clients, carers,and other professionals.Training and mentoring junior therapists,students, and other healthcare staff, promoting the importance of communicationin patient care.Maintaining accurate clinical records, writingreports, and contributing to future service planning through statistical datacollection.

Person Specification Experience Essential Proven post graduate accredited (or equivalent) dysphagia training and experience Previous experience working with adults who have had a stroke Qualifications Essential Degree in speech and language pathology or therapy or equivalent Royal College of Speech and Language Therapist Certificate to Practice Registration with Health Professions Council
