Person Specification Qualifications Essential MB BS or equivalent medical qualification form an institution listed in World Directory of Medical Schools.
Desirable Experience of working other medical specialties for eg: general medicine, geriatric medicine, Accident and Emergency/Casualty.
Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit and service improvement: awards, prizes, presentations and publications.
Post graduate qualification in Psychiatry (eg.
Diploma/Masters degree or higher).
Professional and personal attributes Essential Demonstrate emotional intelligence, leadership and team working skills.
Able to work efficiently in a respectful and polite manner with patients/staff/carers and families.
Adhere to the principles and spirit of Equality Act 2010.
Academic skills and lifelong learning Essential Able to deliver undergraduate teaching and training.
Participate in Continuous Professional Development.
Participate in the Mandatory Training requirements of the Trust.
Commitment to annual Appraisal and Revalidation.
Physical attributes Essential Smart professional appearance.
Experience Essential Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
A minimum of 4 years full time or equivalent in postgraduate training in the UK, or equivalent EEA training.
At least 2 years training in Clinical Psychiatry or demonstrable achievement of the necessary equivalent experience and competencies.
Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 6 months of appointment.
Desirable LD, ADHD, ASD, CAMHS, OPS, Liaison, in-patient and community experience.
Clinical Skills, Knowledge and Experience Essential Good clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
Excellent knowledge in specialty.
Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Desirable Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience, including learning disability.
Peer reviewed publications/participation in research.
